MoodScale is a free tool designed to help you track your moods and related patterns for personal insight only. It is not medical advice, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional care.

By using MoodScale (the website, app, or any related services), you agree to these terms:

  1. Eligibility
    You must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent/guardian to use the service.

  2. Your responsibilities

    • Use the tool only for yourself.
    • Do not share your account.
    • The data you enter is your responsibility — share it with doctors or others at your own discretion.

  3. Our responsibilities (or lack thereof)

    • We provide MoodScale "as is" with no warranties.
    • We are not liable for any decisions you make based on the data or charts.
    • We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or appear abusive.

  4. Changes & termination
    We can update these terms at any time (we'll try to notify you). You can stop using MoodScale anytime by deleting your account.

  5. Governing law
    Germany (where the project is based).

Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously — especially because this is mental health-related data.

What we collect

  • Account data: Your email address (required for sign-up and login). Passwords are hashed and never seen by us.
  • Mood data: Everything you log (mood scores, sleep, energy, irritability, notes, etc.). This is stored securely in your private account.
  • Analytics: Anonymized usage data via Umami (open-source, privacy-friendly analytics). No personal identifiers, no cookies, no tracking across sites.
  • Technical data: Authentication tokens stored in your browser's localStorage (not cookies). IP addresses are logged temporarily by our hosting provider for security.

What we DON'T do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We never share it with third parties except Supabase (our database/auth provider, bound by strict data processing agreements).
  • No advertising, no marketing profiles.

How we protect it

  • Data is stored in Supabase (EU region where possible).
  • Encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • We follow standard security practices, but no system is 100% secure.

Your rights (GDPR & general)

You can:

  • Access or export your data anytime from the app.
  • Delete your account (and all data) from settings.
  • Request corrections or restrictions — just email us.

We'll respond within 30 days.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. After deletion, data is permanently removed (within Supabase's recovery window).
